Track work on the Brisbane City and Gold Coast Line

Due to Cross River Rail construction works, all Airtrain services to and from the Brisbane City and Gold Coast will be affected by track work between Roma Street and Altandi stations on Monday 1^st April 2024.

Before travelling we recommend you plan your journey using the Translink journey planner, find your station’s rail replacement bus stop location, and allow extra travel time for your journey. For more information on this service impact click here to visit the TransLink website or call 13 12 30.

Travelling to Brisbane Airport  

• Gold Coast travel: The train will run express (via the Tennyson Loop) between Altandi and Roma Street station. All trains travelling from Varsity Lakes will depart a minute later than the normal timetable between Varsity Lakes and Altandi stations.
• Brisbane City travel: If you are travelling to South Brisbane, South Bank, or Park Road stations, change trains at Roma Street station for the Cleveland line or Park Road trains to travel to your destination.
• Beenleigh travel: If you are travelling between Park Road and Moorooka stations, change trains at Roma Street station for the Cleveland line or Park Road trains to travel to Park Road station and catch a rail replacement bus to your destination.
  • • The all stops rail replacement bus (R591) will run between Moorooka and Park Road stations every 30 minutes. Alternative, StationLink all stops buses will also be available between Moorooka and Park Road stations.

TRAVEL TIP: When travelling on the rail replacement bus, place your luggage on the seat next to   you or under the seat so it is within easy reaching distance. You may also ask your bus driver for ramp assistance when entering or exiting the bus to assist with your luggage.  

• Caboolture, Sunshine Coast, Shorncliffe, Redcliffe Peninsula, Doomben travel: These services are not impacted, change trains at Eagle Junction station to the Airport. (Note: Doomben line does not operate on Sunday and Public Holidays)
• Ferny Grove travel: This service is not impacted, change trains at Bowen Hills station to the Airport.
• Cleveland, Springfield, Ipswich, Rosewood travel: These services are not impacted, change trains at Roma Street station to the Airport.

Travelling from Brisbane Airport 

• Gold Coast travel: The train will run express (via the Tennyson Loop) between Roma Street and Altandi stations. All trains travelling from Airport towards the Varsity Lakes will arrive 5 minutes later than the normal timetable between Altandi and Varsity Lakes stations.
• Brisbane City travel: If you are travelling to South Brisbane, South Bank, or Park Road stations, change trains at Roma Street station for the Cleveland line or Park Road trains to travel to your destination.
• Beenleigh travel: If you are travelling between Park Road and Moorooka stations, change trains at Roma Street station for the Cleveland line or Park Road trains to travel to Park Road station and catch a rail replacement bus to your destination.
