There are always plenty of arts and cultural events on the Gold Coast. The world famous region is known for its beauty and fantastic weather, with blue skies, golden sands, and azure waters. Along with the year-round natural wonders, there are a myriad of artistic and cultural events on the Gold Coast which delight both locals and visitors from near and far.

Rockin’ The Broadwater

FRIDAY, 13 MAY 2022 | 07:00 PM

Celebrate the Broadwater and all things country music as some of Australia’s country stars take to the stage. Rockin’ the Broadwater is the first country music festival to be held at the Yot Club, and it’s a must-see event for music fans. Cruise along the water and enjoy the tunes brought to you by Adam Brand, James Blundell and Matt Cornell.

The Doyles Art Award 2022

WEDNESDAY, 22 JUNE 2022  TO SUNDAY, 03 JULY 2022

Previously known as the d’Arcy Doyle Art Award, the Doyles Art Award 2022 is the Gold Coast’s most established painting prize. SWELL Sculpture Festival

9-18 SEPTEMBER 2022 | Various times and locations

The highly anticipated outdoor art exhibition is returning for its 19th year. Visit incredible large-scale sculptures set with the backdrop of the beautiful Currumbin beach. More than 50 sculptures will be featured, allowing viewers to wander among the breathtaking offerings. There are also pop-up exhibits in locations stretching across the wider Gold Coast area. And it’s free to see!

Bricktionary: The Interactive LEGO® brick Exhibition

Bricktionary takes Lego far beyond the playsets of childhood, into a full-blown sculptural event. Featuring life-sized animals and fantastical designs, you’ll be amazed by the artistic scope and incredible creations. HOTA Farmers & Artisan Markets

EVERY SUNDAY | 06:00 AM TO 11:30 AM

Find a piece of art for yourself at the HOTA Markets. With live music and local talent creating a vibrant atmosphere, the iconic HOTA precinct comes alive every Sunday morning. Browse the wares of local farmers, bakers, fashion and arts vendors, and many other offerings. Entry and parking are free. You can also check out the Broadbeach Art and Craft Markets or the Coolangatta Art and Craft Markets

Southport Community Market & Music Festival

FIRST SATURDAY OF THE MONTH | 11:00 AM TO 06:00 PM

Combine artisan crafts, delicious food, and excellent music at the Southport Community Market and Music Festival. On the first Saturday of every month between 11am to 6pm, join in on the fun with musical performances and a wide range of stalls. It’s the perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

Shen Yun 2022

Travelling around the Gold Coast

The Gold Coast is connected by an extensive network of trains, buses, and trams. All Queensland public transport uses a smart card for travel, or you can purchase a paper ticket.

Short term visitors should check out the go seeQ card, which allows you unlimited travel for 3 or 5 consecutive days on buses, trains, ferries and trams. It also includes 2 Airtrain journeys to/from the Brisbane Airport.

For longer stays, travel like the locals with ago card – just touch on at your station of departure and touch off when you arrive at your destination.
