The following stations are closed for Cross River Rail construction works and accessibility upgrades.

Queensland Rail union-protected industrial action – no impacts to Airtrain

Airtrain’s services remain not affected by ongoing Queensland Rail union-protected industrial action. Services between Brisbane Airport, Brisbane City and the Gold Coast are operating every 15 minutes during peak hours and every 30 minutes off-peak according to the Airtrain timetable.

The wider Queensland Rail network is currently operating on a modified customer optimised schedule. Please plan your journey via the Translink Journey planner for travel across QR’s South-East Queensland network.

Trackwork on the Airport Line

All Airtrain services to and from the Airport will be affected by trackwork between Domestic Airport and Bowen Hills Stations on Saturday 1^st to Sunday 2^nd August 2026. Rail Buses will replace trains in both directions.

Travelling to Brisbane Airport  

• • There will be an Express bus service, operating every 15 minutes (with 10-minute services between 7am-5pm) from Roma Street Station, travelling to the Domestic Airport and then the International Airport. This service is bus R700 on the TransLink Journey Planner.
  • There will be an All stops bus service, operating every 30 minutes from Bowen Hills Station. This service will travel to Albion, Wooloowin, Eagle Junction, the Domestic Airport and then the International Airport. This service is bus R701 on the TransLink Journey Planner.

Travelling from Brisbane Airport 

• • There will be an Express bus service, operating every 15 minutes (with 10-minute services between 7am-5pm) from the Domestic Airport, stopping at the International Airport, then running express to Roma Street Station. This service is bus R700 on the TransLink Journey Planner.
  • There will be an All stops bus service, operating every 30 minutes from the Domestic Airport. This service stops at the International Airport and then travels to Eagle Junction, Wooloowin, Albion and Bowen Hill Stations. This service is bus R701 on the TransLink Journey Planner.

Roma Street Station Access Points

• From the Airport
  • When arriving at Roma Street Station from the Airport you will arrive on Bus Platform 2, catch the lift or use the stairs to make your way inside the train station. To find your connecting train service, turn right at the ground level and access Platforms 3-10 through the gates.

• To the Airport
  • When you arrive at Roma Street Station follow the signs to exit the station and make your way to the bus platform. Catch the Express bus (R700) to the Airport.

TRAVEL TIP: When travelling on the rail replacement bus, place your luggage on the seat next to you or under the seat so it is within easy reaching distance. You may also ask your bus driver for ramp assistance when entering or exiting the bus to assist with your luggage.
