Brisbane Comedy Festival 2023

The Brisbane Comedy Festival 2023 launches on April 28, for five weeks of non-stop laughs at three incredible main locations. Held between 28 April – 28 May, come and see the international superstars and hilarious local talent offer the very best in side-splitting performances.

Over 350 gigs from more than 110 comedians, there is something to suit everyone. Here’s what you need to know before the Brisbane Comedy Festival 2023.

The Comedians

From rising talent to established superstars, this year’s Brisbane Comedy Festival 2023 welcomes fan favourites in a talented line-up that showcases the best in comedy.

The Brisbane Comedy Festival 2023 welcomes big names such as Danny Bhoy, Ross Noble, Jason Leong, David O’Doherty, Sara Pascoe, Jimeoin, and many more as headline acts as they bring must-see performances to Brisbane stages.

There are plenty of Australian icons as well, including Akmal, Rove McManus, Dave Hughes, Wil Anderson, Peter Helliar, Geraldine Hickey, and a host of other fantastic Aussies. For the ultimate Brisbane comedy experience, check out the Theatresports event as local Brisbane improv artists face off in a side-splitting battle of laughs.

As well as traditional stand-up, try something different with a mash-up of comedy and performance art. Laugh along with drag sensation Karen From Finance, see the impressive physical comedy from The Umbilical Brothers, or join the gender-bending cabaret with Reuben Kaye.

Not to be missed are the comedians with a hilariously unique point of view, like the Aboriginal Comedy All-Stars, the Multicultural Comedy Gala where you can catch six comedians all in the same venue, or Queerstories celebrating the culture and creativity of the LGBTIQ+ community.

For the full line-up of riotously funny acts, see the Brisbane Comedy Festival 2023 website.
