Brisbane Cycling Festival (March – April)
The largest multi-discipline cycling event, Brisbane Cycling Festival, is back in the country’s number one cycling destination from March 21st to April 13th. Across three huge weeks the city will celebrate all things cycling, from the iconic Tour de Brisbane to competition of cycling’s elite at major events like the AusCycling Track National Championships, Mountain Bike Downhill Championships and Road Championships.
NRL Magic Round (May)
When it comes to sport in Brisbane, there’s not much bigger than the world’s largest Rugby League festival, NRL Magic Round. The magic of NRL will light up Suncorp Stadium from May 1st to 4th as 16 clubs battle it out over eight games.
Brisbane Marathon Festival (June)
Race through the city to the finish line at Brisbane Marathon Festival on June 1st. Brisbane’s only marathon distance running event features a full marathon and half marathon, as well as a range of fun runs for 10km, 5km and 2km distances. runs.
British & Irish Lions Tour (July)
For the first time in 12 years, the British & Irish Lions Tour will return to Australia for a festival of rugby. Suncorp Stadium will host two matches, with Queensland Reds v The British & Irish Lions on July 2nd and the Wallabies vs The British & Irish Lions (First Test) on July 19th.
Australian PGA Championships (November)
The 2025 Australian PGA Championships will be the 25th consecutive of the golf major to be held in Queensland and the fifth consecutive at the Royal Queensland Golf Club in Brisbane. The future 2032 Olympic Golf venue will cement itself internationally as a premier tournament destination, as attendees get together for an exciting weekend of elite golf.
Brisbane International Tennis Tournament (December – January)
The Brisbane International Tennis Tournament is serving up world-class action at the Queensland Tennis Centre from late December to early January. You can watch the world’s top players battle it out on the court in one of Australia’s most exciting summer tournaments. Volleyslam (March)
The Volleyslam Beach Volleyball Festival is an iconic beach event set on the stunning Coolangatta Beach from March 15th to 24th. Volleyslam is a celebration of the very best beach volleyball activities ranging from school and state competitions, to the Australian Championships and international beach volleyball tournaments.
Gold Coast Marathon (July)
Run for the good times at the Gold Coast Marathon. On July 5th and 6th the Gold Coast Marathon will be celebrating its 45th year as a world class international milestone. Famous for its flat, fast and scenic course alongside the renowned surf beaches of the GC, there are a variety of races for participants of all ages and abilities to take part in or just spectate.
Gold Coast 500 (October)
When it comes to sport on the Gold Coast, there’s nothing more iconic than the Gold Coast 500. Witness the Supercars take on the street circuit of Surfers Paradise at this year’s Gold Coast 500 from October 24th to 26th. There’s entertainment both on and off track, from the watching races from the grandstands to behind-the-scenes looks at the Supercars.
Pacific Airshow (August)
Australia’s biggest and best airshow event, Pacific Airshow, is returning to the Gold Coast in 2025. This global spectacle-scale event features heart-pumping aerobatic demonstrations by the world’s finest aviators, VIP meet and greet events, social parties, family fun and more.
