Track work on the City and Gold Coast Line

 Due to Cross River Rail construction works, all Airtrain services to and from the City and the Gold Coast will be affected by track work between Eagle Junction and Bowen Hills stations from Monday 23^rd to Friday 27^th September 2024.

 Before travelling we recommend you plan your journey using the Translink journey planner, find your station’s rail replacement bus stop location, and allow extra travel time for your journey. For more information on this service impact click here to visit the TransLink website or call 13 12 30.

Travelling to Brisbane Airport  

• All trains from Eagle Junction will depart 6 minutes later than the normal timetable. Please click here to see the special timetable for this date.

• Gold Coast travel: All trains departing from the Gold Coast will run via Tennyson loop. This train will terminate at Bowen Hills station where customers will disembark and travel by a rail replacement bus from Bowen Hills to Eagle Junction station to catch a connecting train to the Airport. Alternatively, you can disembark at Roma Street station to catch the Express rail replacement bus to Eagle Junction station for a connecting train to the Airport.
  • All trains from Varsity Lakes will depart 5 minutes earlier than a normal timetable between Varsity Lakes and Altandi stations.
• Brisbane City: All trains will run via Tennyson loop between Altandi and Roma Street stations.
  • If you are travelling from Park Road, South Bank and South Brisbane stations, catch the train (Ferny Grove or Shorncliffe line) and disembark at Bowen Hills station to catch the rail replacement bus to Eagle Junction station for connecting train service to Airport. Alternatively, you can disembark at Roma Street station to catch the Express rail bus to Eagle Junction station for a connecting train to the Airport.
  • If you are travelling from Central, and Fortitude Valley stations, catch the train (Ferny Grove or Shorncliffe line) and disembark at Bowen Hills station to catch the rail replacement bus to Eagle Junction station for connecting train service to Airport. Alternatively, you can disembark at Roma Street station to catch the Express rail replacment bus to Eagle Junction station for a connecting train to the Airport.
  • If you are travelling from Roma Street station, catch the Express rail replacement bus to Eagle Junction station to catch a connecting train to the Airport.
  • If you are travelling from Bowen Hills, Albion, and Wooloowin stations catch the rail replacement bus to Eagle Junction station to catch a connecting train to the Airport.
• Beenleigh travel: Catch a train to Banoon station and transfer to a rail replacement bus to travel between Banoon and Park Road station and then, catch a train to Roma Street or Bowen Hill station and catch a rail replacement bus to Eagle Junction station to catch a connecting train to Airport station.
• Caboolture/Nambour, Sunshine Coast, and Redcliffe Peninsula travel: Change trains at Northgate station to travel to the Airport station.
• Shorncliffe travel: This train will continue to Airport line, stay on board to travel to Airport station.
• Doomben travel: This service terminates at Eagle Junction, change trains at Eagle Junction station.
• Ferny Grove travel: Catch the train to Bowen Hills station, then catch a rail replacement bus from Bowen Hills to Eagle Junction station to catch a connecting train to the Airport.
• Cleveland, Springfield, Ipswich, Rosewood travel: Catch the train to Bowen Hills station, then catch a rail replacement bus from Bowen Hills to Eagle Junction station to catch a connecting train to the Airport. Alternatively, you can disembark at Roma Street station to catch the Express rail replacement bus to Eagle Junction station for a connecting train to the Airport.

 TRAVEL TIP: When travelling on the rail replacement bus, place your luggage on the seat next to   you or under the seat so it is within easy reaching distance. You may also ask your bus driver for ramp assistance when entering or exiting the bus to assist with your luggage.  

Travelling from Brisbane Airport 

• All trains from Brisbane Airport will depart 5 minutes later than the normal timetable. Please click here to see the special timetable for this date.

• Gold Coast travel: All trains to the Gold Coast will terminate at Eagle Junction station. Customers travelling to the Gold Coast will need to catch the rail replacement bus from Eagle Junction station to Bowen Hills station for a connecting train to your destination. This train will run via a Tennyson loop. Alternatively, you can catch the Express rail replacement bus from Eagle Junction to Roma Street station for connecting train to your destination
  • All trains will arrive 5 to 7 minutes later than a normal timetable between Altandi and Varsity Lakes station.
• Brisbane City:

• • If you are travelling to Central and Fortitude Valley stations disembark at Eagle Junction station to catch the rail replacement bus to Bowen Hills station, for connecting train services to your destination.
  • If you are travelling to Park Road, South Bank and South Brisbane stations, disembark at Eagle Junction station to catch the rail replacement bus to Bowen Hills station, for connecting train services to your destination. • Beenleigh travel: Disembark at Eagle Junction station to catch the Express rail replacement bus to Roma Street station and change for a connecting train to Park Road station and then, transfer to the rail replacement bus between Park Road and Banoon stations and change trains to travel to your destination.
• Caboolture/ Nambour, Sunshine Coast, and Redcliffe Peninsula travel: Change trains at Northgate station to your destination station.
• Shorncliffe travel: This train will continue to the Shorncliffe line, stay on board to travel to Airport station.
