Track work on the City and Gold Coast Line

 

Due to Cross River Rail construction works, all Airtrain services to and from the City and the Gold Coast will be affected by track work between Eagle Junction and Banoon stations on Saturday 30th December 2023. Trackwork affects all lines.

Travelling to Brisbane Airport  

• All trains from Eagle Junction will depart 12 minutes earlier than the normal timetable. Please click here to see the special timetable for this date.

• Gold Coast/Beenleigh travel: All trains from the Gold Coast will be stopping at all stops between Varsity lakes and Banoon station. Trains will depart 5 minutes later than the normal timetable for stations between Varsity Lakes and Ormeau, and 7 to 15 minutes later between Beenleigh and Altandi stations. This train will terminate at Banoon station where customers will disembark and travel by an Express rail replacement bus to Eagle Junction station to catch a connecting train to the Airport.
• Brisbane City: Catch the express or all stops rail replacement buses to Eagle Junction station to catch a connecting train to the Airport. Find your best connection on the Translink journey planner.
• Caboolture, Sunshine Coast travel: This train will continue to Airport line, stay on board to travel to Airport station.
• Shorncliffe, Redcliffe Peninsula travel: Change trains at Northgate station to travel to the Airport station.
• Doomben travel: This service terminates at Eagle Junction, change trains at Eagle Junction station.
• Ferny Grove travel: Catch the Ferny Grove train to Bowen Hills, then catch rail replacement bus from Bowen Hills to Eagle Junction station to catch a connecting train to the Airport.
• Cleveland, Springfield, Ipswich, Rosewood travel: Change at Roma Street station to catch the rail replacement buses to Eagle Junction station to catch a connecting train to the Airport. Find your best connection on the Translink journey planner.

 

Travelling from Brisbane Airport 

• All trains from Brisbane Airport will depart 13 minutes earlier than the normal timetable. Please click here to see the special timetable for this date.

• Gold Coast/ Beenleigh travel: All trains to the Gold Coast will terminate at Eagel Junction station. Customers travelling to the Gold Coast are advised to catch the Express rail replacement bus from Eagle Junction station to Banoon station for connecting train services. Trains will arrive 9 minutes earlier from Altandi station, and 1 to 4 minutes earlier than the normal timetable for stations between Loganlea and Varsity Lakes stations.
• Brisbane City: Catch the express or all stops rail replacement buses from Eagle Junction to travel to your destination. Find your best connection on the Translink journey planner.

• Caboolture, Sunshine Coast travel: This train will continue to the Caboolture/ Sunshine Coast line, stay on board to travel to Airport station.
• Shorncliffe, Redcliffe Peninsula travel: Change trains at Northgate station to your destination station.
• Doomben travel: Change trains at Eagle Junction station.
• Ferny Grove travel: Change to rail replacement bus at Eagle Junction to Bowen Hills, then catch the connecting Ferny Grove train.
• Cleveland, Springfield, Ipswich, Rosewood travel: Change at Eagle Junction station for the rail replacement bus to Roma Street station for connecting train services. Find your best connection on the Translink journey planner.
