Track works for April 2026

 

From Friday 3 until Sunday 26 April, there will be major track closures and travel changes for works to improve your rail network.

Some journeys may take significantly longer than usual.

Please consider your travel options, plan ahead and allow extra travel time.

Changes for each line will vary and your best travel option may change throughout April. See below for impacts.

 

Dates Travel changes
Good Friday 3 to Monday 6 April Buses will replace trains between Eagle Junction and Banoon stations

There will also be some timetable changes.

Tuesday 7 and Friday 10 April All lines will have timetable changes.

Buses will replace trains between Eagle Junction and Banoon stations

Saturday 11 April Buses will replace trains between Eagle Junction and Roma Street stations and between Boggo Road and Varsity Lakes stations
Sunday 12 April Buses will replace trains between Boggo Road and Varsity Lakes stations
Monday 13 to Friday 17 April Buses will replace trains between Boggo Road and Varsity Lakes stations
Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 April Buses will replace trains between Boggo Road and Varsity Lakes stations
Monday 20 to Friday 24 April Buses will replace trains between Boggo Road and Banoon stations

Beenleigh and Gold Coast lines will run as a combined service between Banoon and Varsity Lakes stations.

Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 April Buses will replace trains between Boggo Road and Banoon stations

Beenleigh and Gold Coast lines will run as a combined service between Banoon and Varsity Lakes stations.

 

What works are happening?

These project works are essential to upgrade South East Queensland’s rail network as it undergoes a once-in-a-generation transformation to support our growing population.

The scale and complexity of these works requires a longer closure period to keep workers safe and complete as much work as possible.
