Discounted Airtrain Tickets for Brisbane Airport Precinct Employees

What you need to purchase tickets

To take advantage of this special offer you need to produce your current ASIC card, Airport Staff ID, or a letter (physical or digital) confirming your employment in the Brisbane Airport precinct. Workers at Skygate and Brisbane Airport Service Centre are also eligible for discounted tickets.

When purchasing a paper ticket option (Paper Weekly Ticket or Book of 20 Tickets) at the International and Domestic Station. The Paper Weekly ticket are also available to be purchased at Central Station. You will need to produce your valid ID to Airtrain (or QR) staff before you are able to purchase. If you are looking to purchase the New Digital Weekly ticket, you will need to register online by providing your valid ID and being approved in the system before you can purchase the digital version of this ticket.

All Brisbane Airport workers tickets are available for travel between the Brisbane Airport stations and the following Brisbane City stations: South Brisbane, Roma Street, Central, Fortitude Valley, Bowen Hills, Albion, Wooloowin, and Eagle Junction. Travel beyond these stations will require an additional ticket which can be purchased from your local Queensland Rail station or the Airtrain stations.

Travelling on staff tickets

You must have a valid ticket each time you travel on the train, and present the ticket when entering and exiting the train station. Tickets are non-refundable and cannot be used by another person. Digital workers tickets MUST be scanned when entering and exiting at the International and Domestic Airport stations.

Paper Weekly tickets and Book of 20 tickets for Brisbane Airport Workers are only available at the International and Domestic Airport stations (with Paper Weekly tickets also available at Central Station). It is your responsibility to ensure you have a valid train ticket prior to arriving at the Airport stations. Failure to do so will result in a full adult fare from CBD station being charged on top of any tickets you wish to purchase.

New Digital Staff tickets

Airtrain is launching their new digital Workers Weekly ticket soon – now is the time to pre-register and create your account online!

To be able to purchase the new Digital Weekly ticket option, all Airport workers will need to complete an application process online at  https://www.airtrain.com.au/staff-ticket-application/. This application will include submitting proof of your current ASIC card, Airport Staff ID, or a digital letter confirming your employment in the Brisbane Airport precinct. Workers at Skygate and Brisbane Airport Service Centre are also eligible for discounted tickets.

As our Digital Weekly ticket is new, please allow for two weeks for approvals to be granted after you have pre-registered due to the number of applications expected.

Once approval has been granted, you will receive an email letting you know (if successful) that your application has been approved and next steps to finalise your Digital Workers weekly account and then purchase tickets. If you have a valid paper ticket when you have been approved, please use the remainder of the paper ticket before booking a new Digital Weekly Ticket as we will not be able to refund the difference.
