Temporary Station Closures
The following stations are closed for Cross River Rail construction works and accessibility upgrades.
Moorooka station will be closed from 2nd March 2026 until late-2027. Click here for alternative services information.

Track work on the Gold Coast Line
All Airtrain services to and from the Gold Coast will be affected by track work between Beenleigh and Varsity Lakes Stations on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th March 2026. Rail Buses will replace trains in both directions.

Travelling to Brisbane Airport
- Gold Coast and Beenleigh travel: Catch a rail replacement bus to Beenleigh station and change for a connecting train to the Airport station.
- All other services are not impacted.
Travelling from Brisbane Airport
- Gold Coast and Beenleigh travel: Catch a train to Beenleigh station and change for a rail replacement bus to your destination.
- All other services are not impacted.
TRAVEL TIP: When travelling on the rail replacement bus, place your luggage on the seat next to you or under the seat so it is within easy reaching distance. You may also ask your bus driver for ramp assistance when entering or exiting the bus to assist with your luggage.

Track work on the Inner City Line
All Airtrain services to and from the Inner City will be affected by track work between Albion and Roma Street Stations on Saturday 28th March and Sunday 29th March 2026.
Trains will run express between Albion and Roma Street stations via the Exhibition line. Railbuses will run between Roma Street and Albion Stations in both directions.

Extended Track Closures – Friday 3rd to Sunday 26th April 2026 Overview
Track works for April 2026
From Friday 3 until Sunday 26 April, there will be major track closures and travel changes for works to improve your rail network.
Some journeys may take significantly longer than usual.
Please consider your travel options, plan ahead and allow extra travel time.
Changes for each line will vary and your best travel option may change throughout April. See below for impacts.

These project works are essential to upgrade South East Queensland’s rail network as it undergoes a once-in-a-generation transformation to support our growing population.
The scale and complexity of these works requires a longer closure period to keep workers safe and complete as much work as possible.
