Train Transfer required on the Gold Coast Line

All Airtrain services from the Varsity Lakes stations will require a train transfer at Helensvale station on Saturday 9^th and Sunday 10^th August 2025.

Travelling to Brisbane Airport  

• Gold Coast travel: All trains will depart 10 minutes earlier than a normal timetable between Varsity Lakes and Helensvale stations.
  • If you are travelling from Varsity Lakes, Robina and Nerang stations catch a train to Helensvale station and change trains to catch a connecting train to the Airport.
• All other services are not impacted.

Travelling from Brisbane Airport 

• Gold Coast travel: All trains will arrive 15 minutes later than a normal timetable at Varsity Lakes stations.
  • Trains travelling from Ormeau to Helensvale will run 7 minutes later than a normal timetable.
  • If you are travelling to Varsity Lakes, Robina and Nerang stations, catch a train to Helensvale station and changes trains for a connecting train to your destination.
• All other services are not impacted.

23-24 August 2025

Track work on the Brisbane City and the Gold Coast Line

All Airtrain services to and from the Brisbane City and the Gold Coast will be affected by track work between Bowen Hills to Banoon, Corinda and Cannon Hill stations on Saturday 23^rd and Sunday 24^th August 2025.

Travelling to Brisbane Airport  

• Gold Coast and Beenleigh travel: Catch all stops train to Banoon station where customers will disembark and travel by an express rail replacement bus to Eagle Junction station, to catch a connecting train to the Airport. Alternatively, customers can catch all stops rail replacement bus to Bowen Hills station to catch a connecting train to the Airport.
  • Train will depart 5 minutes later between Varsity Lakes and Ormeau stations, 7 minutes later from Beenleigh station, 10 minutes later from Loganlea station and 15 minutes later from Altandi station than a normal timetable.
• Brisbane City travel:
  • If you are traveling from Central, Fortitude Valley, South Brisbane, Southbank and Bogg Road stations, catch a rail replacement bus to Bowen Hills station, to catch a connecting train to the Airport.
  • If you are traveling from other Brisbane City stations, these services are not impacted.
• Cleveland travel: Catch the train to Cannon Hill station, then transfer to rail replacement bus to travel to Bowen Hills station for a connecting train to the Airport.
• Springfield, Ipswich, and Rosewood travel: Catch the train to Corinda station, then transfer to a rail replacement bus to travel to Bowen Hills station for a connecting train to the Airport.
• All other services are not impacted.

Travelling from Brisbane Airport 

• Gold Coast and Beenleigh travel: Catch a train to Eagle Junction station where customers will disembark and travel by an express rail replacement bus to Banoon station, to catch a connecting all stops train to your destination. Alternatively, customers can catch a train to Bowen Hills station for all stops rail replacement bus to Banoon station, to catch a connecting all stops train to your destination.
  • Train will arrive 9 minutes earlier at Altandi station, 4 minutes earlier at Loganlea station and a minute earlier between Beenleigh and Varsity Lakes stations than a normal timetable.
• Brisbane City travel:
  • If you are traveling to Central, Fortitude Valley, South Brisbane, Southbank and Boggo Road stations, catch the train to Bowen Hills station and transfer to a rail replacement bus to your destination.
  • If you are traveling to other Brisbane City stations, these services are not impacted.
• Cleveland travel: Catch a train to Bowen Hills station, transfer to a rail replacement bus to Cannon Hill station for a connecting train to your destination.
• Springfield, Ipswich, and Rosewood travel: Catch a train service to Bowen Hills station, transfer to a rail replacement bus to travel to Corinda station for a connecting train to your destination.
• All other services are not impacted.

TRAVEL TIP: When travelling on the rail replacement bus, place your luggage on the seat next to   you or under the seat so it is within easy reaching distance. You may also ask your bus driver for ramp assistance when entering or exiting the bus to assist with your luggage.
