Brisbane Hosts the NRL Magic Round

It’s the biggest weekend in Australian Rugby League, and it’s all at the Suncorp Stadium. This year is only the second time the NRL Magic Round has been played, and Brisbane are the proud hosts once again. Rugby fans missed out last year due to covid restrictions so the excitement for this year’s round will be second to none. All of the biggest names and the toughest teams gather in one place, giving every fan the chance to see the greats and take part in the atmosphere and action.

Here’s everything you need to know about the NRL magic round, how to get there, and what to do in Brisbane during your visit.

Hosting the NRL Magic Round

All 16 teams will head to Brisbane again this year to face off over a massive eight matches. Held across three days, from Friday 14th of May until Sunday the 16th, the Magic Round this year takes place during round 10 of the Rugby League season. After your Airtrain journey, any further public transport is included free with your NRL ticket – just show your ticket when prompted by rail and bus staff. Be sure to travel within four hours of the game’s kick off, and 4 hours after the final whistle for this deal to apply.

While you’re in Brisbane, short term visitors should check out the go seeQ card, which allows you unlimited travel for 3 or 5 consecutive days on buses, trains, ferries, and trams. It also includes 2 Airtrain journeys to/from the Brisbane Airport.
