Track work on the Gold Coast Line
Due to Cross River Rail construction works, all Airtrain services to and from the Gold Coast will be affected by track work between Roma Street and Moorooka stations on Monday 1st January 2024. Trackwork also affects the Beenleigh line.
Travelling to Brisbane Airport
- The train will run express (via the Tennyson Loop) between Altandi and Roma Street station.
- Gold Coast: All trains travelling from Varsity Lakes towards the Airport will depart 8 minutes later than the normal timetable between Roma Street and Airport stations.
- Brisbane City: If you are travelling from South Brisbane, South Bank and Park Road stations catch the Shorncliffe line train and transfer at Roma Street station to travel to the Airport.
- Beenleigh travel: Catch rail replacement bus if travelling from stations between Moorooka and Park Road stations, then catch the train to Roma Street to switch trains to the Airport. Find your best connection on the Translink journey planner.
- Caboolture, Sunshine Coast, Shorncliffe, Redcliffe Peninsula, Doomben travel: These services are not impacted, change trains at Eagle Junction station.
- Ferny Grove travel: This service is not impacted, change trains at Bowen Hills station.
- Cleveland, Springfield, Ipswich, Rosewood travel: These services are not impacted, change trains at Roma Street station.
Travelling from Brisbane Airport
- The train will run express (via the Tennyson Loop) between Roma Street and Altandi stations.
- Gold Coast: All trains travelling from Airport towards the Varsity Lakes will arrive 5 minutes later than the normal timetable between Altandi and Varsity Lakes.
- Brisbane City: If you are travelling to South Brisbane, South Bank and Park Road stations, change trains at Roma Street for Cleveland line to travel to your destination.
- Beenleigh travel: Switch trains at Roma Street to Cleveland line to travel to Park Road. Change at Park Road for rail replacement bus to travel between Park Road and Moorooka stations. Find your best connection on the Translink journey planner.
