Track work on the City and Gold Coast Line

Due to Cross River Rail construction works, all Airtrain services to and from the City and the Gold Coast will be affected by track work between Eagle Junction and Banoon stations on Saturday 6^th and Sunday 7^th July 2024.

Before travelling we recommend you plan your journey using the Translink journey planner, find your station’s rail replacement bus stop location, and allow extra travel time for your journey. For more information on this service impact click here to visit the TransLink website or call 13 12 30.

Travelling to Brisbane Airport  

• All trains from Eagle Junction will depart 12 minutes later than the normal timetable. Please click here to see the special timetable for this date.
• Gold Coast and Beenleigh travel: All trains from the Gold Coast will terminate at Helensvale station where customers will disembark and transfer to another train from Helensvale station to Banoon station stopping at all stops between Helensvale and Banoon station. This train will terminate at Banoon station where customers will disembark and travel by an Express rail replacement bus to Eagle Junction station to catch a connecting train to the Airport.

• • If you are travelling from Varsity Lakes, Robina, and Nerang station, changes trains at Helensvale station to catch a connecting all stops train service to Banoon station.
  • Trains will depart 5 minutes earlier than the normal timetable for stations between Varsity Lakes and Nerang station, 5 min later between Helensvale and Ormeau station, and 7 to 15 minutes later between Beenleigh and Altandi stations.
• Brisbane City:
  • If you are travelling from South Brisbane, Roma Street, Central and Fortitude Valley stations catch the train (Ferny Grove line) to Bowen Hills station and transfer to the rail replacement bus to Eagle Junction station to catch a connecting train to the Airport. Alternatively, if you are travelling from Roma Street, Central and Fortitude Valley stations catch the rail replacement bus to Eagle Junction station for a connecting train to the Airport.
  • If you are travelling from South Bank and Park Road station catch the rail replacement bus to Roma Street station and transfer to an Express rail replacement bus to Eagle Junction station to catch a connecting train to the Airport.
  • If you are travelling from Bowen Hills, Albion, and Wooloowin stations catch the rail replacement bus to Eagle Junction station to catch a connecting train to the Airport.
• Caboolture and Nambour (Sunshine Coast line) travel: This train will continue to Airport line, stay on board to travel to Airport station.
• Shorncliffe and Redcliffe Peninsula travel: Change trains at Northgate station to travel to the Airport station.
• Doomben travel: This service terminates at Eagle Junction, change trains at Eagle Junction station. (Note: Doomben line doesn’t operate on Sunday)
• Ferny Grove travel: Catch the train to Bowen Hills station, then change to a rail replacement bus to Eagle Junction station to catch a connecting train to the Airport.
• Cleveland travel: Change at Manly station to catch the rail replacement bus to Roma Street station and transfer to another rail replacement bus to Eagle Junction station to catch a connecting train to the Airport.
• Springfield, Ipswich, and Rosewood travel: Change at Roma Street or Bowen Hills station to catch the rail replacement bus to Eagle Junction station to catch a connecting train to the Airport.

TRAVEL TIP: When travelling on the rail replacement bus, place your luggage on the seat next to   you or under the seat so it is within easy reaching distance. You may also ask your bus driver for ramp assistance when entering or exiting the bus to assist with your luggage.  

Travelling from Brisbane Airport 

• All trains from Brisbane Airport will depart 13 minutes earlier than the normal timetable. Please click here to see the special timetable for this date.

• Gold Coast and Beenleigh travel: All trains to the Gold Coast will terminate at Eagle Junction station. Customers travelling to the Gold Coast are advised to catch the Express rail replacement bus from Eagle Junction station to Banoon station for connecting all stops train service to your destination.
  • If you are travelling to Nerang, Robina, and Varsity Lakes station, change trains at Helensvale station to your destination.

• Brisbane City:
  • If you are travelling to South Brisbane, Roma Street, Central and Fortitude Valley stations disembark at Eagle Junction station to catch the rail replacement bus to Bowen Hills station and catch a connecting train service to your destination. Alternatively, you can disembark at Eagle Junction station to catch the rail replacement bus to your destination.
  • If you are travelling to South Bank and Park Road stations disembark at Eagle Junction station to catch the rail replacement bus to Roma Street station to catch a connecting rail replacement bus to your destination.
  • If you are travelling to Bowen Hills, Albion and Wooloowin stations disembark at Eagle Junction station to catch a rail replacement bus to your destination.

• Ferny Grove travel: Change to a rail replacement bus at Eagle Junction to Bowen Hills, then catch the connecting train to your destination.
• Cleveland travel: Change to a rail replacement bus at Eagle Junction to Roma Street station, then catch the connecting rail replacement bus to travel between Roma Street and Manly station and a train to your destination.
• Springfield, Ipswich, and Rosewood travel: Change at Eagle Junction station for the express rail replacement bus to Roma Street or Bowen Hills station for the connecting rail replacement bus to your destination.
