Summer, Always – Welcome to Brisbane

Officially, summer has finally drawn to a close – but in beautiful Brisbane, the weather and the incredible atmosphere make it idyllic at any time of year.  It’s Summer, Always in Brisbane – now is the perfect time to plan a visit. There’s no place we’d rather be!

Here’s some of the reasons that Brisbane is the perfect destination, no matter the season.

The Climate

From the warm summer days to the sunny mild winters, the great Brisbane outdoors is perfect for exploring at any time of year. The climate is sub-tropical, with warm or hot weather for most of the year. Due to its location, Brisbane is sheltered from the extremer cold sometimes experienced by the more southern states. That makes Brisbane an idea destination for sunseekers, who flock to the Queensland state capital to make the most of the natural attractions and diverse destinations the city has to offer.

Natural Attractions

Brisbane’s natural attractions are unbeatable, and many within just a short journey from the city. Brisbane has a range of magic destinations, like the Scenic Rim’s World Heritage rainforests, or Moreton Bay which is filled with pristine islands and located just an hour from the CBD. You can check out the incredible beaches and wildlife of Moreton Island as you visit the amazing sand hills. Or, take a trip to Tangalooma to see the shipwrecks teeming with sea life, either above the water in a see-through kayak or by diving under the waves to get in close. You’ll find some of our other suggestions for making the most of Brisbane’s beautiful islands here.

Diverse Destinations

From old favourites like Fortitude Valley’s Hotel X and The Calile Hotel, to exciting new developments like the Howard Smith Wharves, you don’t need to leave the city to experience something new. Brisbane has its own distinct style when it comes to dining and culture. Even if you only have a short time in the city, there is so much to see and do. Outdoor Lifestyle

In Brisbane, it’s “Summer, Always” – and the locals take full advantage of the ideal climate by getting outdoors as much as possible. Home to some of the most beautiful picnic spots, enjoy the sun in one of Brisbane’s gardens, or spend some time along the river. If you prefer, you can even get out on the river – there are a number of tour companies who are happy to take you kayaking on the Brisbane River. One of the most well-known is the Riverlife Adventure Centre located on the Kangaroo Point cliffs. They offer a range of outdoor activities like abseiling, cycling, and many more to keep you active as you enjoy the sunshine. You can find more suggestions on outdoor adventures here.

Incredible Experiences

As the fastest growing Australia state capital, Brisbane attracts unique sporting, cultural, and musical events from around the world. From live music to exclusive art exhibitions, there’s something to see year-round. There are many thrilling sporting competitions that Brisbane is proud to offer, from all levels and codes. Of course, one of the biggest global sporting events is the Olympic and Paralympic Games, and with Brisbane set to host the games in 2032, our reputation as a sporting destination only grows stronger each year.
